Women’s Cross Country Takes 20th Place out of 30 Schools in Illinois Intercollegiate Invitational

Normal, Ill. – The Robert Morris Women’s Cross Country team finished in 20th place out of 30 competing schools in the Illinois Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by Illinois State University on Friday, September 14th.  The race was a 4,000 meter distance and was held at Weibring Golf Course in Normal, Illinois.

Yarisel Mata was the first Eagle to cross the finish line in 162nd place with a time of 20:33.  She was followed by Idalis Valdivia in 182nd place with a time of 21:01.  Other RMU finishers were Jillian Hendzlick in 220th place (22:12), Michelle Steinwart in 232nd place (22:56), Kiersten Norgard in 251st place (23:39), Rachel Day in 257th place (23:48), and Virginia Garcia in 267th place (24:45).  There was a total of 302 runners participating the meet.

Robert Morris is off until Saturday, September 29th when they compete in the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota.  Race time is set for 9:00 A.M. at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in St. Paul, Minnesota.
