Milwaukee, Wis. – The Robert Morris University Eagle Elite dance team attended the annual UDA College Spirit Camp from August 2nd through the 5th at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. The team spent the four days learning advanced routines that ranged in style anywhere from jazz, to hip hop, to lyrical. They also had the opportunity to have one on one technique sessions with very accomplished dancers, as well as a master hip hop class from Kendra Andrews.
The days were very long, starting from prepping for the day in full hair and makeup at around 6 am, and breaking for the night at 8 pm, with few breaks in between. During this time, the Eagle Elite learned new choreography and technique, as well as trying to perfect old technique. Each team member learned three routines throughout the weekend, and on the last two days had to perform this routine along with their group in front of the entire camp and be evaluated on it. The Eagle Elite received 27 blue and 6 red ribbons!
The team also had the opportunity to perform their home routine to OneRepublic’s “Marching On” in UDA’s home routine competition. They finished in 5th place in the open category and received multiple awards at the closing ceremony on the last day. Overall, the camp was a success for the Eagle Elite and they are looking forward to getting started with their season!
