Orange Beach, Ala. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 492 women’s soccer student-athletes have been named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes and Olivia Amoako, Shannon Bennett, Izaela De La Rosa, Karina Munoz, Kelsey Neville, and Juana Valle of Robert Morris were selected.
Amoako, Bennett, and De La Rosa earn their second consecutive selection while Munoz, Neville, and Valle are first-time award recipients. Valle also was selected as a Scholar Athlete in cross country as a dual participant student-athlete.
In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
