Chicago, Ill. – It is with great sadness that Robert Morris University reports the death of sophomore Jesus Lupian, an accounting student and Eagle soccer player.
Jesus was participating in practice on Wednesday evening, August 1, with the RMU soccer team when he collapsed and was rushed to University of Illinois Medical Center. He was a graduate of Hersey High School and a resident of DesPlaines, said his soccer coach Jake Truty. “He really loved playing soccer and being a part of the RMU Eagles.”
Provost Mablene Krueger said that Jesus was an active and involved student, well-liked by his team members and classmates. “It is such a tragedy when a community like Robert Morris loses one of its own,” she said. “He was a great kid and a good student.”
Grief counseling has been made available to students, faculty and staff through Student Services. Visitation is on Sunday, August 5th from 3:00-9:00 P.M. at River Woods Funeral Home (address is below).
