Normal, Ill. – The Robert Morris Men’s Cross Country team finished in 12th place out of 36 competing schools in the Illinois Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by Illinois State University on Friday, September 14th. The race was an 8,000 meter and was held at Weibring Golf Course in Normal, Illinois.
Mizael Carrera led the Eagles with an 18th place finish in a time of 24:58 while JuanCarlos Barrera took 54th with a time of 25:38. Other Eagle finishers were Phillipe McNeal (144th/26:52), Jacob Hernandez (178th/27:20), Alejandro Garcia (180th/27:24), Edgar Olaya (284th/30:17), and Travis Lewis (288th/30:23). The race consisted of 339 individual runners.
The Eagles finished 16 points ahead of CCAC rival Saint Xavier but were a mere 28 points behind Olivet Nazarene. Saint Francis was the top CCAC finisher in the race.
Robert Morris is off until Saturday, September 29th when they compete in the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota. Race time is set for 10:45 A.M. at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in St. Paul, Minnesota.
