Chicago, Ill. – The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced that Melissa Joyce of Robert Morris is the CCAC Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending November 4th. This is the second time in as many weeks that Joyce has received this award.
Joyce ran her streak of double-doubles to five matches with her 18 kills and 20 digs in a five-set win over Cardinal Stritch University on Tuesday, October 30th and her 12 kills and 13 digs in a three-set victory against Trinity International University on Thursday, November 1st.
Joyce’s 30 kills and 33 digs total averaged out to 3.75 kills and 4.13 digs per set over the two matches, where she also produced a .344 attack percentage. Joyce also contributed three aces, one block and three assist blocks to the two wins for the Eagles, who have won each of their last five matches.
Robert Morris enters this week’s CCAC Tournament as the #5 seed after going 10-9 in league play and 12-24 overall and will take on 4th seeded Cardinal Stritch University on Tuesday, November 6th at 7:00 P.M. Fans can listen to the match live on the Eagles Sports Network.
