Chicago, Ill. – The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced the Women’s Soccer 2012 post-season awards and Florence Dadson of Robert Morris has been named the CCAC Conference Player of the Year.  Joining Dadson on the CCAC All-Conference 1st team are teammates Olivia Amoako, Shannon Bennett, and Linda Ehsun.

Junior Florence Dadson has had an incredible year, leading the Eagles and CCAC in scoring with 28 goals, nine assists, and 65 points and she ranks fourth in the country in Total Goals, Goals per Game (1.65), Points per Game (3.82).  She is also fifth in Total Points in the NAIA.  This is a repeat selection for Dadson, as she was also a CCAC first team selection and NAIA All-America 1st teamer in 2011, and she is the seventh player in the program’s history to earn CCAC Conference Player of the Year honors and first since Gifty Appiah in 2009.

Senior defender Olivia Amoako earned her third consecutive CCAC All-Conference 1st team selection as a central back for the Eagles.  Amoako and the Eagles backline allowed only 10 goals scored for third best in the conference and she has been a four-year starter at her position for RMU.

Fellow senior central defender Shannon Bennett received her first all-conference first team selection after being selected to the second team during her freshman year in 2009.  Bennett was an integral part of the RMU backline for the past four seasons and she scored six goals and two assists for 14 points this season.

Junior central midfielder Linda Eshun makes her second straight appearance on the first team and is RMU’s second leading scorer behind Dadson.  Eshun scored a career high 11 goals and four assists for 26 points this season and has been the team’s engine and playmaker in the midfield.  Eshun was also a NAIA All-America Honorable Mention selection in 2011.

The 20th ranked Eagles travel to Lamoni, Iowa to take on 12th ranked Graceland University on Saturday, November 17th in the 2012 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship Opening Round.  Game time is yet to be announced and fans will be able to listen to the game live on the Eagles Sports Network.
