Madison, Wis. – The top ranked Robert Morris Men’s Bowling team remained perfect in competition this season, winning the Warhawk Open this past weekend for the team’s eighth consecutive tournament title in as many tries. In a field of 38 teams and 256 bowlers, the Eagles edged out second place St. Ambrose University (Iowa), third place University of Nebraska, and fourth place Midland University (Neb.) for the championship at Bowl-A-Vard Lanes.
RMU also dominated the All-Tournament team with three Eagles being selected out of five recipients. Freshman Kyle King won the individual portion of the tournament, averaging a 222 for the weekend. Sophomore Dominic Partipilo was right behind King in second place, averaging 220.2 while freshman Mikey Preston finished in fourth place at 217.6. All three are pictured below.
Also bowling well for the Eagles were sophomore Matt Gasn in 14th place, senior Jacob Kent in 18th place, and sophomore Josh Regnier in 22nd place. Also the Gold JV team finished in first place of the JV Division and second overall behind the first place Eagles. Meanwhile, the Maroon JV team finished in 6th place of the JV Division and 19th overall.
The Eagles will take three-week break before their next competition and will compete in the Roto Grip Keystone Quaker Classic on December 27th and 28th and the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Classic on December 29th and 30th. Both events will be held in Allentown, Pennsylvania
