Eagles Win Second Straight in Berea College Pepsi Challenge With 61-54 Win Over Huntington

Berea, Ky. – The Robert Morris Women’s Basketball team defeated Huntington University (Ind.) by a score of 61-54 in their second game of the Berea College Pepsi Challenge on Saturday, November 17th.  The Eagles raised their record to 5-3 on the year and went 2-0 in the weekend tournament.

The Eagles fell behind by as many as 11 points in the first half to Huntington, who are receiving votes in the NAIA Division II Preseason Poll, and trailed 27-23 at the half.  However, the Eagles battled back to open up a nine-point lead in the second half with 10:17 to play and held on for the 61-54 victory.

Renee Reed led the Eagles with 13 points while Danisha Cole had 11 points in the win.  RMU shot 40% from the field on the day and 30% from 3-point range.

The Eagles travel to Deerfield, Illinois on Tuesday, November 20th to take on Trinity International University.  Tip-off is at 5:30 P.M. and the RMU men’s team will follow at 7:30 P.M. in the second game of a doubleheader.  Both games can be heard live on the Eagles Sports Network.
