Kansas City, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced the 2012 Women’s Volleyball Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 Poll and Robert Morris received 13 votes.

The Eagles are ranked at #35 in the poll after winning the 2011 CCAC Conference Tournament championship to advance to its first NAIA National Tournament.   The squad is also the top rated team in the CCAC Conference preseason poll heading into the 2012 season.

“This is such an honor to receive this recognition from the NAIA,” stated Eagles Head Coach Lauren Joyce Hensel.  “Players during the past four years have knowingly and unknowingly contributed to the success of the program, and RMU would not be here without them. We still have much work to do as a program to better ourselves as both students and athletes, and we look forward to the challenges and hard work we will encounter this season.”

Head Coach Lauren Joyce Hensel’s team opens the 2012 campaign on the road at the Saint Ambrose Tournament in Davenport, Iowa on Friday, August 24th and Saturday, August 25th.  The Eagles face a tough schedule this season as they square off against seven schools that received votes in NAIA Top 25 Poll, including #6 Embry-Riddle (Fla.), #9 Indiana Wesleyan, #11 Taylor (Ind.), #13 Grand View (Iowa), #25 Indiana University-East, and receiving votes Davenport (Mich.) and Bethel (Tenn.).
