Kansas City, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has released the latest NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll and the Eagles were just outside of the poll at #27 with nine votes.

This is the first time that RMU has received votes in the poll and the Eagles are riding a five-game winning streak after defeating Mid-States Football member Trinity International University 31-28 this past weekend behind a four touchdown, 226-yard rushing performance by sophomore Lamont Wims.  Wims leads the NAIA in Total Rushing Yards (945) and Total All-Purpose Yards (1,096) this season.

“It’s nice to put a string of wins together and obviously things like this are a product of winning a few ballgames,” stated Eagles Head Coach Jared Williamson.  “We have the opportunity to really attack our goals in the next few weeks but we can’t afford to look ahead to anything other than the next step in this process. We have got to have great meetings today, a great practice, and focus on a Concordia team that is going to come in on Saturday fired up and ready to play.”

The Eagles host Concordia University (Mich.) this Saturday, October 6th at Morris Field in Arlington Heights.  Kick-off is set for 1:00 P.M. and fans can watch the game live on the Eagles Sports Network.
