Eagles Knock Off 15th Ranked Bethel College 85-75 in Berea College Pepsi Challenge

Berea, Ky. – The Robert Morris Women’s Basketball team knocked off Bethel College (Ind.), who is ranked #15 in the NAIA Division II Poll, by a score of 85-75 on Friday, November 16th in the first game of the Berea College Pepsi Challenge.  The victory raised the Eagles record to 4-3 on the year.

The Eagles, who are receiving votes in the NAIA Preseason Poll, trailed the Pilots 46-41 at half-time but took control of the game in the second half.  RMU outscored the Pilots 44-29 in the second half behind 44% shooting to pull away and win the game 85-75.

Yolanda De La Torre had a big game scoring 22 points and grabbing 12 rebounds while Celeste Jones scored 21 points.  Uniqua Hampton and Danisha Cole both scored 15 points while Ashley Segers had 15 rebounds and Mary Colon had 11 in the victory.

The Eagles play game two of the tournament on Saturday, November 17th against Huntington University (Ind.), who are receiving votes in the NAIA Division II Poll.  Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 P.M.
