Nashville, Tenn. – The Robert Morris Women’s Field Hockey team is still looking for the program’s first win as they lost to the University of Missouri 2-0 and Vanderbilt University 3-0 on Sunday, October 21st. The losses drop the Eagles record to 0-3 in their first season of competition.
Robert Morris was facing a higher level of competition than their previous opponent, but the team showed how much they have improved since their first game against Notre Dame. The Eagles came out strong in the first game of the weekend and Missouri was unable to break through the RMU defense until they were awarded a penalty shot in the second half and converted for a 1-0 lead. Missouri added a second goal for the 2-0 win.
In the second contest of the day, the small Eagles squad had trouble keeping up with the speed and experience of the Vanderbilt team. RMU relied more on a counter attack strategy in the weekend games and fell to Vanderbilt 3-0.
Robert Morris travels to Oxford, Ohio to looking for the program’s first win as they take on Miami University on Sunday, November 4th.
