Milwaukee, Wis. – The Robert Morris Men’s Soccer team lost to top seeded Cardinal Stritch University by a score of 2-0 in the CCAC Conference Tournament semi-finals on Wednesday, November 7th. The loss ended the Eagles season with a record of 12-5-2.
The first half was a scoreless affair with the Eagles holding a slight 4-2 edge in shots with both teams having two corner kicks apiece.
Cardinal Stritch stepped up the pressure in the second half and took a 1-0 lead in the 80th minute on a goal by Peter Bannister. The Wolves made it 2-0 just 56 seconds later on another goal from Bannister and the Eagles were unable to recover, falling to the Wolves 2-0.
The game was a physical match with 10 yellow cards and a player on each team being ejected. RMU goalkeeper Milco Risteski made two saves in the loss and Cardinal Stritch outshot the Eagles 9-6 on the night.
The loss ends the Eagles season and the outstanding collegiate careers of Monroe Bell Jr., Jon Fuentes, Aaron Herrera, and Milco Risteski.
