Kansas City, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has released the latest NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll and Robert Morris University comes in at #23 for the program’s first Top 25 ranking ever.

The Eagles received 37 votes this week after thrashing Concordia University (Mich.) 42-9 on Saturday, October 6th. RMU has won six straight games since losing the season opener to Siena Heights (Mich.) 26-19 in double overtime. Sophomore running back Lamont Wims leads the NAIA in Total Rushing Yards with 1,031 and also Total All-Purpose Yards with 1,239 yards.

“Over the last few years we’ve had so many firsts. Sometimes you have time to enjoy them and others you have to wait for a while. This is another stop along our journey that we’ll have to look back on because we have a lot of work in front of us,” said Eagles Head Coach Jared Williamson. “Getting to this point is the result of so many people’s hard work. The ultimate goal is to consistently put ourselves in this position, that’s when we can look around and really be proud of what we’ve done.”

RMU is on a bye week before traveling to Florida to take on Ave Maria University on Saturday, October 20th. Kick-off is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. and the game can be heard live on the Eagles Sports Network.
