Marquette Township, Mich. – The Robert Morris Women’s Hockey team swept their two games from Northern Michigan University, defeating the Wildcats 6-1 on Friday, November 16th and 4-0 on Saturday, November 17th. The victories raised the Eagles’ record to an impressive 14-1 and the team remains unbeaten at 8-0-0 in CCWHA play.
In Friday night’s win, freshman Chelsea Kasprick tallied yet another hat trick in the 2012 season. Maddy Biluk added a power play tally, Jessica Merritt scored a short-handed goal, and Kayla McCaig added an even strength goal. RMU goaltender Staci Pomering stopped 21 of 22 shots for the win and the Eagles out shot the Wildcats 41-22 on the night.
Staci Pomering remained red-hot in the net, as she earned her fifth shut-out of the season stopping all 20 shots she faced in the Eagles’ 4-0 win on Saturday. Jen Wilson scored two goals in the game while Jessica Trageser and Chelsea Kasprick added a goal apiece. Jessica Merritt had another strong game with two assists.
The Eagles are off until Friday, November 30th and Saturday, December 1st as they host Michigan State University at The Edge in Bensenville. Puck drop is at 8:30 P.M. on Friday and 7:30 P.M. on Saturday.
