Gary, Ind. – The Robert Morris Women’s Basketball team knocked off Indiana University Northwest by the score of 79-73 on Saturday, December 1st to raise its record to 8-3 on the season. The victory was the Eagles’ fifth consecutive of the year after beginning the season 3-3.
The game was a tale of two halves, as the Eagles dominated the opening period and led 43-24 at the half. The Eagles shot 41.5% in the first half while Indiana Northwest shot 32.1%.
The second half belonged to Indiana Northwest, as they outscored RMU 49-36 in the second half. However, the Redhawks fell just short as the Eagles hung on for the 79-73 win.
Three Eagles scored in double figures with Danisha Cole leading the way with 16 points, while Uniqua Hampton added 15 points and Yolanda De La Torre chipped in with 14 points.
The Eagles will take part in the Olivet Nazarene University Tournament next weekend in Bourbonnais, Illinois. RMU will take on St. Catherine College on Friday, December 7th and Wilberforce University on Saturday, December 8th.
