Chicago, Ill – The Robert Morris Women’s Volleyball team defeated Illinois Tech 3-2 in CCAC Conference action by scores of 25-18, 14-25, 25-21, 24-26, 15-13 on Tuesday, October 9th. The victory raises the Eagles CCAC record to 5-7 and their overall record to 7-21 on the season.
The Eagles were bolstered by the return of All-American Melissa Joyce from injury and she contributed with a team high 16 kills and also had 14 digs. Allyson Murray had 15 kills while Kory Honel chipped in with 12 kills and 16 digs. Other top performers for RMU were Myranda Cate with 48 assists and Christine Ocampo with 21 digs.
The Eagles continue CCAC Conference play with a crucial match against Judson University on Thursday, October 11th as the two teams battle for a conference tournament berth. The match is scheduled for 7:00 P.M. at Attack Athletics in Chicago and it can be heard live on the Eagles Sports Network.
