Chicago, Ill. – The Robert Morris Women’s Volleyball team defeated Trinity International University in straight sets (25-22, 25-15, 25-19) to close out the CCAC Conference regular season and celebrate “Senior Night.” The victory raised the Eagles conference record to 10-9, which is good for a third place tie in the CCAC North Division final standings. The Eagles are now 12-24 overall this season heading into the CCAC Conference Tournament.
RMU seniors Melissa Joyce and Kory Honel had strong games in their last career home game as Eagles. Joyce had a game high 12 kills and 13 digs, while Honel also had 13 digs to go along with six kills. Both seniors are pictured below.
Also contributing for the Eagles were junior Myranda Cate with a game high 38 assists and freshman Allyson Murray with 11 kills.
Robert Morris, the 2011 CCAC Conference Tournament champions, opens up the CCAC Conference Tournament as the fifth seed and travels to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to take on fourth seeded Cardinal Stritch University on Tuesday, November 6th. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 P.M. and fans can listen to the match live on the Eagles Sports Network. The winner of the conference tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament.
