Chicago, Ill. – Robert Morris University forward Florence Dadson reeled in her sixth Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award, while teammate Olivia Amoako gained the honor on defense for the first time in 2012, it was announced on Tuesday, November 13th after the pair led the Eagles to their first conference tournament title since 2004.
Dadson, who was named as the top offensive performer in the league in six of the 12 weeks in which the honor was presented this year, produced four more goals in two games last week to bring her season total to 28 goals in 17 games. Both the 28 goals and 1.65 goals per game average rank fourth best in the NAIA as does her 3.82 points per game. Her 65 total points rank her fifth in the nation.
Dadson scored the game-tying goal in RMU’s 2-1 win over 16th ranked Judson University on Wednesday, November 7th before authoring a hat trick, including the game-winning goal, in the 4-1 championship game victory over Trinity Christian College on Saturday, November 10th.
Amoako, a senior defender, anchored the Robert Morris back line with two strong performances. In the win on Wednesday, Amoako and three other defenders limited Judson to only three shots on goal and five shots total. Three days later, Trinity Christian was held to four total shots with only two being on goal.
Robert Morris makes its third consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearance beginning on Saturday, November 17th when it plays 12th ranked Graceland University (Iowa) in the Opening Round. Kick-off is set for 5:00 P.M. and fans can listen to the game live on the Eagles Sports Network.
