Belleview, Ill. – The Robert Morris Women’s Bowling team took third place in the National Team Match Games Tournament this past weekend and the tournament consisted of one of the strongest competing fields this year.
The women’s division consisted of 30 teams and 203 bowlers and Wichita State University (Kan.) won the event. Webber International (Fla.) finished in second place with the Eagles coming in third place.
Grad student Alejandra Mora won the individual title, averaging 217.2 while junior Caitlin Hofmann finished in fourth place averaging 211.8. Both Mora and Hofmann were named to the All-Tournament team. Also bowling well for RMU was junior Katie Sexton (9th) and sophomore Tawni Vollmer (12th).
The Eagles will travel to Madison, Wisconsin to compete in the Warhawk Open on Saturday, December 1st and Sunday, December 2nd.
